ENTER "THE END IS NEAR WITHOUT VOLUNTEERS" VIDEO CONTEST
Enter to win - $5000 in prizes!
Volunteers make the world go round - they feed the hungry, comfort the sick, rescue the injured and save the trapped. They fight back against the worst monsters and demons ever to walk the earth: disease, poverty, malnutrition, illiteracy, depression, hate, abuse, corruption, violence - the list is endless.
If there were no volunteers 2.1 billion hours of volunteer work equaling 1.1 million full-time equivalent jobs would be erased... In Canada alone.
What would happen if one day everyone stopped volunteering? What would happen if the help you needed wasn't there?

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We're looking for short videos that deal with the theme in a unique way and stretch the idea as far as possible. Scary, creepy, funny - anything goes. Be as abstract as you need to be - there is no requirement to depict volunteers or nonprofits as long as you stay within the theme. Zombies always welcome.
- While the films will be used to illustrate what it would look like if volunteers where not there to help, they do not have to depict volunteer situations or include non-profit organizations.
- Submissions depicting murder, torture or gratuitous violence are discouraged. Death, disappearance and abduction are suitable.
LANGUAGE:
Films must be in English, or English subtitled, or with minimal dialogue so an English language audience may understand it.
GENRE:
Horror: Broadly defined as anything scary. Evil space aliens, the supernatural, and psychos. Horror combined with comedy (Motel Hell, American Werewolf in London) is also fine, provided a horror content remains.
Thriller: is a genre of literature, film and television that uses suspense, tension and excitement as the main elements. The primary subgenres of thrillers are: mystery, crime and psychological thrillers.
Any combination of other genres with Horror or Thriller is acceptable.
