The City delivers some of its services through agencies or corporations such as the Toronto Transit Commission, the Committee of Adjustment and Build Toronto. Each has its own board of directors, which includes members of the public. Board members provide oversight of their agency or corporation, and bring a community perspective to board discussions. Members of a board may include Members of Council, local residents, business owners or community leaders. For more information, visit toronto.ca/ServeYourCity or join us at our upcoming information sessions in Scarborough and Etobicoke.

Volunteering on a City board is a great opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience, collaborate with others, and serve your City.

The City of Toronto's Public Appointments staff will provide more information about the process and answer your questions.
