Your volunteers are dedicated, consistent and hard-working. They come in for their shift every time and always get their assignments and tasks done quickly. But what happens when they run out of things to do?

Volunteer boredom is a big challenge for volunteer coordinators and volunteers alike. Boredom can lead to volunteer burnout and disinterest with their role – while coordinators can spend more time finding work for volunteers to do than fulfilling the other aspects of their job! This workshop will discuss the challenges with maintaining a volunteer program – with enough things to do – and provide solutions to these challenges while also providing ideas and tools for dealing with volunteer boredom when it arises. Create ways to ensure that your volunteer program has built-in backups in case boredom strikes – and find new alternatives to volunteer planning that will fight boredom before it hits.
