Dealing with Difficult Volunteers: Conflict Resolution for Volunteer Management - 9:00am-4:00pm
$110 - Regular Rate / $65 - Full Subscriber Rate

This special full day "Boot Camp" workshop will give volunteer managers the valuable tools, techniques and skills required to diffuse conflict, deal with difficult volunteers and create solutions that support everyone in your organization. Co-facilitated by Edwin Greenfield, a Certified Mediator with March of Dimes Canada and Sammy Feilchenfeld, Volunteer Toronto's Training Coordinator, this workshop will help volunteer managers understand the sources of conflict and gain the skills required to resolve conflicts among volunteers.

By the end of this full-day workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Define conflicts & disputes
  • Identify the root cause of a conflict
  • Understand the sources of conflict among volunteers, between volunteers and staff and within your organization
  • Learn the steps in solving arguments and how to handle them constructively
  • Identify the different conflict management strategies and apply various techniques such as coaching to help resolve volunteer conflicts and enhance volunteer program effectiveness
  • Gain a greater understanding of conflict/dispute resolution procedures and apply them to practical volunteer scenarios and situations
  • Gain the skills the resolve conflicts among volunteers and to effectively plan resolution according to the problems and people involved

Lunch will not be provided - coffee, tea and light refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

Registration & Cancellation Policy

Registrations are accepted at the discretion of Volunteer Toronto.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations received within 48 hours of an event.
Registration can be transferred to another member of your organization. 

Written notice must be received more than 48 hours prior to the event date in order to receive a refund. Please send your written cancellation to Sammy Feilchenfeld at sfeilchenfeld@volunteertoronto.ca. Registered participants who fail to attend an event will be invoiced for the full fee, due 30 days from the date of the invoice.
