Come to our Information Session for Job-Seekers which will focus on teaching you more about the volunteer process, how to search for volunteer opportunities, how volunteering can help you find work and provide opportunities to reflect on transferable skills and answer any questions you have.

 5 Ways Volunteering Can You Find Work

Looking for work can be tough! Volunteering is a way to help you gain skills and experience for the job-market. It also allows you to try out new things, network with people and have fun!

This one hour interactive session will focus on the who, what, when, where and how of volunteering and 5 ways  volunteering can help you when looking for work.

 Questions that will be answered include:

  • How do I find a volunteer position?
  • How can I gain transferable skills from a volunteer opportunity?
  • What are the benefits of volunteering when looking for work? 
  • How do I highlight volunteering on my resume? 


The session will be led by Tarif Rahman, Community Outreach Volunteer at Volunteer Toronto, and will include stories from people who have volunteered while looking for work. 


Date:        Thursday, November 26

Time:        6-7:30pm

Please arrive between 5:45 and 6pm. We will start at 6pm sharp.
