Are you new to Canada? Interested in learning more about volunteering? Have particular questions to ask? Come to our Information Session for Newcomers to Toronto which will focus on teaching you more about what volunteering is, the benefits of volunteering, how to search for volunteer opportunities and answer any questions you have.

Volunteering as a Newcomer to Canada

Are you hearing suggestions that you should volunteer but aren't sure how to start? Do you want to learn more about the benefits of volunteering? Would you like to feel more settled in Canada or learn English? This information session is for you! 

This one and a half interactive session will focus on the who, what, when, where and how of volunteering and showcase how easy and fun volunteering can be! 

 Questions that will be answered include:

  • What is volunteering?
  • How do I find a volunteer position?
  • Why should I volunteer?
  • What are the benefits of volunteering?
  • Will volunteering help me find work?  

The session will be an introduction to volunteering in Toronto and will include stories from newcomers who volunteered while settling into Canada. 

 Date:        Wednesday, May 18

Time:        6pm-7:30pm

Please arrive between 5:45pm and 6pm. We will start at 6pm sharp. 

Location: The 519, Room 106 (on the first floor), 519 Church Street, Toronto ON M4Y 2C9
