Want to learn more about volunteering from people who currently volunteer? Come to our panel to hear directly from out-standing volunteers about what they do and why they volunteer.

Our evening will start with a brief introduction to volunteering and how to find a great volunteer position for you! Then each panelist will speak about what they do in their volunteer role(s), how they got involved and what they enjoy about volunteering. After they have shared, participants will be welcome to ask questions of the panelists about their experiences. After this hour and a half session you will leave inspired by the variety of volunteer opportunities in the city and the impact you can make!

Our panelists are:

Ambreen Ahmed - as a newcomer to Toronto, Ambreen quickly became involved in volunteering as a way of making connections and using her skills. In her role as an Outreach Volunteer, Ambreen engages and educates members of the public about volunteering. From that position she began volunteering at different organizations to assist newcomers adjusting to life in Canada and those seeking paid employment. She is now an active member of the Toronto Newcomer's Cabinet.  She looks forward to sharing about her experience and knowledge of volunteering.

Mollify - as someone who enjoys arts and cultural events, Mollify began volunteering as a way of becoming involved in various events across the city. She quickly fell in love with volunteering as it created ways to meet new people, gain work experience and use her time in a fulfilling way. She's now been actively volunteering at special events for seven years, and this year alone she had volunteered for 12 different events across the city. She looks forward to sharing with you how volunteering has impacted her life, and some great events to get started with.

Stephanie Wang - as a primary caregiver for her kids, Stephanie was interested in volunteering as a way of using her social and professional skills for a great cause. She began volunteering providing Referral Services to clients to direct them to suitable volunteer opportunities. Stephanie then decided to join two different non-profit boards to help provide support and guidance to organizations she cared about as they sought to meet their mission and build up our city. She looks forward to sharing with you the various benefits of volunteering on a board and the impact you can make.

This is an awesome opportunity for you to get your questions about volunteering answered directly from people who volunteer.
