Volunteer Panel

Want to learn more about volunteering from people who currently volunteer? Come to our panel to hear directly from three out-standing volunteers about what they do and why they volunteer.

Our evening will start with a brief introduction to volunteering and how to get started. Then each panelist will speak about what they do in their volunteer role, how they got involved and what they enjoy about volunteering. After they have shared, participants will be welcome to ask questions of the panelists about their experiences.

Our panelists are:

Alysha Try - an active volunteer for many years, Alysha most often volunteers for special events across the city. She says it is through volunteering that she has gotten to where she is today in life, and she looks forward to telling you more about it!

Dave D'Oyen - a community activist and volunteer, Dave serves on a variety of committees and boards to support the work of our city. He has seen first-hand the impact volunteering can have on his community, and he looks forward to sharing how your small actions can have a big impact.

Ambreen Ahmed - as a newcomer to Toronto, Ambreen quickly became involved in volunteering as a way of making connections and using her skills. In her role as an Outreach Volunteer, Ambreen engages and educates members of the public about volunteering. She looks forward to sharing about her experience and knowledge of volunteering.

This is an awesome opportunity for you to get your questions about volunteering answered directly from people who volunteer.
