How Do I Find a Volunteer Position?
Share |
 1. Reflect. What are you good at? What do you want to learn or gain from volunteering? What causes do you care about? How much time do you have?  2. Research. Go to “Volunteer” at the top of the page. Click on the “Volunteer Opportunities” tab. Use the Category filter to search for positions that are “1. Suitable for Youth (14-17).” Click on any position title that interests you to find out its requirements, time commitment and how to apply.  3. Reach Out. You might be asked for a resume, so have one prepared just in case. Click here for some tips on how to write a resume. Have details of people you can use as references if asked, e.g. a teacher, a religious leader, a neighbour, a family friend. Follow the specific instructions in the “How to Apply/Contact” section of position description. Contact the person listed if you have any questions.
