Celebrate Toronto's Outstanding Volunteers During National Volunteer Week!

We recognize volunteers for their amazing work all year round but once a year we like to go above and beyond to say a special thank you.

This year, the highlight of National Volunteer Week will be our Legacy Awards. After putting out a call for fantastic volunteers, and receiving close to 100 stellar nominations, our team of judges had the hard task of choosing 25 volunteers whose contributions have bettered Toronto in an exceptional way.

Our award winners include:

  • A mother who works tirelessly to break down barriers between youth and the police in her St Lawrence neighbourhood;
  • A hockey coach who spends 40 hours a week training three teams, determined to give youth a chance to play Canada’s favourite sport;
  • A sister who raised over $100,000 in the memory of her brother, to send kids with congenital heart disease to summer camp so they could forget about their illness for a week.
The work of our award recipients speaks volumes and will continue to inspire others to give back for years to come.

Find out who they are and read about what they have done.

To all the volunteers in Toronto, Happy National Volunteer Week! Without you, the city would not be the place that it is.
