These information sessions are for people interested in learning more about volunteering. They are free to attend and open to anyone. 

6 Ways Volunteering Can Help You Find Work

Wednesday, October 25 from 6:00PM-7:30PM, Downtown

Looking for work can be tough! Volunteering is a way to help you gain skills and experience for the job market. It also allows you to try out new things, network with people and have fun! This 1.5 hour interactive session will focus on the who, what, when, where and how of volunteering and 6 ways volunteering can help you when looking for work.

 

Volunteering As A Newcomer To Canada

Thursday, November 9 from 10:00AM-11:30AM, Downtown

Are you new to Toronto and want to get involved? Looking to learn more about Canadian work culture or learn English? Come meet other newcomers and learn more about volunteering. This workshop will focus on how volunteering can help you meet people and learn more about your new home. 

 

 Learning About Volunteering

Monday, November 20 from 6:00PM-7:30PM, West Toronto

Come to this session to learn what volunteering is, the many benefits of volunteering and how to find a great volunteer position. You'll find out the who, what, when, where and how of volunteering. Kelly, an active volunteer for over 10 years experience, will be answering all your questions about volunteering. This session is for people who haven`t volunteered before. 

 

How To Ace Your Volunteer Application

Wednesday, November 29 from 6:00PM-7:30PM, Downtown

Do you want to volunteer and are overwhelmed by the application process? Unsure how to write a cover letter or resume? Want to practice some interview skills? Come to this session to learn concrete tools and techniques for applying and securing a great volunteer opportunity.

Are you an experienced professional interested in volunteering in a leadership role? Volunteering as a non-profit board member may be the role for you. Come to one of our upcoming workshops to find out what's involved and have all your questions answered.

If you are interested in volunteering and need some help, please contact us! We can answer all your questions and suggest volunteer opportunities that are right for you.

You can either:

  • Book an appointment to have a one-on-one session to speak to a Referral Counsellor where they provide suggestions, tips and information on volunteering in Toronto. Please note that a Referral Counsellor will not match you with a volunteer opportunity, but will instead provide suggestions of positions for you to apply for. You can arrange for a Counsellor to call you, or you can schedule an appointment where you visit our office to speak with a Counsellor
