Randy Phipps
Volunteer at MJKO

“Volunteering has helped me to see how my contribution can have a ripple effect. Because I volunteer and dedicate my time to charities, my network of friends have also wanted to become involved and volunteer as well. It’s humbling to see positive change in others and leading by example.”

The ParaPan Am Games are in Toronto! A whole week to celebrate sport and the athletic achievements of people with disabilities. Bringing 1,600 disabled athletes together in one place, the Pan Am and ParaPan Am Games have sought to be the most accessible games to date.

Disabilities can be visible, like using a mobility device, or invisible, like dyslexia. Volunteers in Toronto play an important role in helping make services more accommodating to people with disabilities.

If you have a disability and are interested in volunteering in Toronto, you can find an opportunity by using our volunteer opportunities search engine. Our “Suitable for People with Disabilities” category is one option to help individuals easily find opportunities suited to their ability level.

If you need further assistance or have an accessibility need that requires specific accommodation, give us a call at 416-961-6888 or book an appointment with a Referral Counsellor who will be happy to help.

Interested In Joining A Board of Directors?

Becoming a member of a nonprofit organization’s board can be a meaningful way to apply your experience in the nonprofit sector at the governance level to help advance a nonprofit's social impact.

It can be an incredibly rewarding way for professionals to give back while learning new skills that can enhance their own careers.

Volunteer Toronto is offering a two-hour interactive workshop entitled “Becoming A Board Member” for people who have an interest in volunteering at a leadership level and want to learn more about becoming a Board Director before they commit.

“Becoming a Board Member” workshops will take place on
September 9 and September 30. Register today!
