Training for Board Members

Fiduciary Basics and Budgets

Are you new to your organization's Board of Directors? Not sure about what your duties are around liability, risk management and financial statements? Lear all about fiduciary duty, the role of money and people risk management, understanding financial statements and helping to plan budgets in this Training Session for Board Members. This two-hour interactive workshop is ideal for new board members already sitting on non-profit boards.

By the end of the session you'll know the answers to the following questions:

  • What is my fiduciary duty as a Board Member?
  • Who is liable for what when I sit on a Board?
  • How do I help assess and manage risks for the organization?
  • How do I read and understand budgets and financial statements?
  • What do I need to know to help provide financial guidance as a Board Member?

Not currently on a Board and want to learn more about what it takes to become a board member? Attend a "Becoming a Board Member" session, then once you join a board attend one of these training sessions.
