Volunteering is a way to help you gain skills and experience for the job-market. It also allows you to try out new things, network with people and have fun! This one hour interactive session will focus on the benefits of volunteering and who, what, when, where and how to volunteer as a newcomer. This session is led by Susan, Community Engagement Volunteer, who will share her volunteering experience and how it has benefited her life.

This 1.5 hour interactive workshop will cover:

  • How do I find a volunteer position?
  • How can I gain skills from a volunteer opportunity?
  • What are the benefits of volunteering and how it can help me find work?
  • What is the application process? What to expect when applying?
  • How do I highlight volunteering on my resume?

The session will be led by Susan, Community Engagement Volunteer at Volunteer Toronto, who has lots of volunteering experiences that she will share with the audience.
