Volunteering is a way to help you gain skills and experience for the job market. It also allows you to try out new things, network with people and have fun! Be part of the community and learn the Canadian culture.This 1.5 hour interactive session will focus on the who, what, when, where and how of volunteering .Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

This 1.5 hour interactive workshop will cover:

  • How do I find a volunteer position?
  • What is the time commitment?
  • How to use Volunteer Toronto's website?
  • How can I gain skills from a volunteer opportunity?
  • What are the benefits of volunteering?
  • How to network and get references.
  • What is the application process?
  • What to expect when applying?
  • How do I highlight volunteering on my resume?

The session will be led by Venus Pak, Community Engagement Assistant at Volunteer Toronto, who has volunteer experience that she will share with the audience.


Date: Wednesday, August 29 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

Location: The 519 Community Centre, Eastroom (106)

               519 Church Street, Toronto, ON M4Y 2C9

                Near Wellesley Station.

Cost: Free

This workshop is taking place in a wheelchair accessible space with access to the washroom. We look forward to seeing you there!
