Are you interested in volunteering? Do you want to learn more about what volunteering is? How to get started? What is the best way to apply? What are the benefits? How can you gain skills and experience? At the same time be part of your community and learn about the Canadian culture. Come to this 1 hour interactive workshop that will cover who, why, what, where, and how of volunteering. Friday, October 26 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.

This 1.5 hour interactive workshop will cover:

  • How do I find a volunteer position?
  • What is the time commitment?
  • How to learn more about the Canadian culture
  • Best places to volunteer and learn English and to make friends
  • How to use Volunteer Toronto's website and some helpful tips!
  • How can I gain skills from a volunteer opportunity?
  • What are the benefits of volunteering?
  • How to network and get references?
  • Do I need a cover letter?
  • How do I highlight volunteering on my resume?

The session will be led by Venus Pak, Community Engagement Assistant at Volunteer Toronto, who has volunteer experience that she will share with the audience.


Date: Friday, October 26 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.

Location: Volunteer Toronto Office, Board room

               344 Bloor Street West, Suite 404, Toronto, ON M5S 3A7

                Near Spadina Station.

Cost: Free

This workshop is taking place in a wheelchair accessible space with access to the washroom. We look forward to seeing you there!
