Looking for work can be tough! Volunteering is a way to help you gain skills and experience for the job market. It also allows you to try out new things, network with people and have fun! This 1.5 hour interactive session will focus on the who, what, when, where and how of volunteering and 6 ways volunteering can help you when looking for work. Wednesday, October 17 from 6 to 7:30 PM.

This 1.5 hour interactive workshop will cover:

  • How do I find a volunteer position?
  • How to use Volunteer Toronto's website?
  • What are some benefit of volunteering?
  • How much time do I have to volunteer?
  • 6 ways volunteering can help you find a job
  • How can I gain skills from a volunteer opportunity?
  • How do I network?
  • Can I ask for references?
  • Is there an interview process?
  • Do I need to write a cover letter or resume?

The session will be led by Iona Frost, Community Engagement Manager at Volunteer Toronto, who has volunteer experience that she will share with the audience.

 

Date: Wednesday, October 17 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

Location: The 519 Community Centre, East Room South 106

                  519 Church Street ,Toronto, ON M4Y 2C9

                Near Wellesely Station.

Cost: Free

This workshop is taking place in a wheelchair accessible space with access to the washroom. We look forward to seeing you there!
