How much does it cost to attend?

The Youth Expo is FREE!

Do I need to get a ticket in advance or can I just show up on the day?
While you can register upon arrival, we highly recommend you register for your free ticket in advance so that, on the day, you can simply check in and move on to enjoying the expo!

Who can attend the Youth Expo?

  • middle-school students looking to get an early start on their 40 high-school volunteer hours*
  • high-school students looking to complete their volunteer hours or boost their college and university applications
  • university or college students looking to explore a potential career path through volunteering

*please note that most organizations will be recruiting for volunteers 14 and up

As Volunteer Toronto serves the City of Toronto, volunteer opportunities will be based in Toronto, anywhere from Etobicoke to Scarborough and as far north as North York. If you live outside of Toronto, you can still attend but probably won't find roles in your local area.

Can parents or guardians come?

Yes! Just make sure you register in advance.

Which organizations will be there?

We'll be releasing an electronic expo guide listing all participating non-profits in advance of the event. We'll be posting a link to it on this page in October. You'll also receive a print copy at the event itself.

You'll be able to explore opportunities at non-profits working in the following areas:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Children and Youth
  • Community and Social Services
  • Disabilities and Accessibility
  • Environment and Animals
  • Equality and Human Rights
  • Health
  • Homelessness and Housing
  • International Development
  • Youth-led Organizations

Do I need to bring I.D., a resume, or anything else with me to the event?

Nope! Just bring lots of enthusiasm and be prepared to talk to the organizations about their roles. It helps if you have an idea of what types of non-profits or what roles you might enjoy most. Select the "Suitable for Youth" category in our search engine to get started.

Please note: Registering to attend the Youth Expo does NOT mean that you have signed up to volunteer at the expo itself. If you're interested in volunteering at the expo itself, please check our search engine for the posting in mid-September.
