Volunteer Boundaries & Consequences of Breaking Them - Thursday, November 28, 2019 (9:30 am - 12:30 pm)

$70 - Regular Rate / $40 - Full Subscriber Rate

Do you have effective boundaries in place for your volunteers? Do you know what to do when volunteers break the rules? Are you prepared for the possibility of firing a volunteer? In this interactive workshop, learn about creating appropriate boundaries for your volunteers and explore the reasons volunteers might break boundaries. Through activities, discussions and more, learn how to improve volunteer performance when they break the rules and the necessary consequences, up to and including dismissal.

You'll leave this workshop with:

  • Tools to create effective volunteer boundaries
  • An understanding of the varied reasons that volunteers break boundaries
  • Tips and techniques for managing and improving volunteer performance

Deirdre Millin has extensive experience in training, communications, project-management, and curriculum development in the not-for-profit sector. She has successfully supervised volunteers, motivating them to create a ‘win-win’ scenario for both volunteer and not-for-profit alike. A highly engaging speaker, Deirdre has developed and delivered trainings for a wide range of clients including the Ontario College of Art and Design University, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Media Guild, Sobeys, ACCES Employment, CANNEXUS and the YWCA.

Lunch will not be provided - light refreshments will be provided.
