“I believe that real wealth is measured in community and that hugs are priceless. Our time on Earth is short, and our future families will measure us by our actions. I’d rather instead of them saying, "Wow, you made nerf-guns and slap chops, and now we don’t have any more oil,” they say, “Hey, thanks for making it possible for us to live.”

At Volunteer Toronto, we think volunteers are the ultimate superheroes! However, we also think Volunteer Managers are the powerful force compelling those volunteers to do amazing things. These are the people working to recruit, supervise, support and encourage volunteers.

On Thursday, November 5th volunteers worldwide will be showing their love and appreciation for their Volunteer Managers during International Volunteer Manager’s Day (#IVMDay15)

Are you happy in your volunteer position? Are you grateful for the support of your volunteer manager? If so, you can show your appreciation in the following ways:

  • Say ‘thank you’ to them;
  • Write a thank you card and have it signed by all the volunteers;
  • Bake a special treat to share with them;
  • Share your appreciation for your volunteer manager with others in the organization (some might not know it’s such a special day!)

Have a great idea to celebrate your Volunteer Manager? Share it with us on Twitter!
