The Peer Project, a program of Youth Assisting Youth

Get Involved. Inspire Children & Youth To Succeed. Change a Life. Become a Mentor.

Who are we?

The goal of The Peer Project is simple: help at-risk and newcomer children and youth find their way, by pairing them with a youth mentor who can offer support and guidance.

And it works. 98% of the kids we work with stay in school and out of trouble with the law. It only takes 3 hours a week – the time it takes to watch a hockey game, go to a movie, or play some video games.

How does it work?

We pair you with a child (aged 6 to 15) based on common interests, background and where you live. From there, the mentoring begins, with ongoing support from us.
You will share experiences, skills, and hobbies and inspire a younger youth to stay on the right track. You can volunteer on your schedule (3 hours per week) and close to home.
