Description & Details

Looking to flex your creativity and improve your writing skills while making a difference across Toronto? As a Social Media Feature Volunteer you’ll be reaching out to Torontonians, promoting exciting volunteer opportunities, and helping others join the 1.6 million volunteers that power our city—all from the comfort of home.

Volunteer Toronto is Canada’s largest volunteer centre. We’re the first place that many people go to when they decide to volunteer and our website is updated daily by 600+ non-profits that are actively looking for volunteers.

Role and Responsibilities:

Our Opportunity of the Week program highlights in-need volunteer postings from our website by featuring them across our social networks—bringing the postings to the attention of more people and help to fill critical needs in the city. You’ll be responsible for writing the content for three Opportunity of the Week features every two weeks—each consisting of a Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram post that will get people excited to volunteer.

It will be important to be creative in your writing and to bring your personality to bear while maintaining positivity and being respectful. Volunteer positions vary widely and it will be important to adapt your tone and content to appropriately represent Volunteer Toronto, the roles, and the organizations looking for volunteers.
