Legacy Awards

Do you know someone who has done amazing volunteer work for a good cause?

Thank them with a Legacy Award!

*2020 Legacy Award nominations are now closed*

Volunteer Toronto’s 2020 Legacy Awards (to be presented at the Toronto Reference Library, April 20) will formally celebrate the passion, commitment, and creativity of our city's most exceptional volunteers. Whether your nominee has made a big impact in a short period of time, has given back for over 20 years, or has overcome personal challenges, we want to hear their story!

Our judging committee will be looking for nominees who meet the criteria outlined below and whose volunteer work falls into one or more of the following categories:

Being What's Needed: Demonstrated commitment to filling a critical need or important gap in service.

Inclusivity: Contributions that benefit members of the community facing barriers.

Positive Change: Evidence of challenging stigmas and advocating for positive change.

Growth and Learning: Proof of exceptional personal or professional growth through volunteering.

Connection: Development of meaningful relationships with service-users, clients, and other volunteers.

Lifetime Achievement: A lifetime commitment to volunteering.
