Over 1600 Youth To Attend

Volunteer Toronto’s Youth Expo

OCTOBER 21, 2016 - Since 1999, the Ontario Government has required that high school students complete 40 community service hours in order to graduate. In Toronto, that’s over 100,000 students looking to volunteer. In an effort to make their search easy, Volunteer Toronto created the Youth Expo, a one-day event where high school students can connect with 107 non-profits recruiting youth volunteers. The event gets youth out of their comfort zones and exposes them to the variety of volunteer opportunities available in the city, making it easy for them to build face-to-face connections with organizations. So far, 1600 people have pre-registered to attend.
