These information sessions are for people interested in learning more about volunteering. They are free to attend and open to anyone.


6 Ways Volunteering Can Help You Find Work

Wednesday, October 17 from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM (Downtown)

Volunteering is a way to help you gain skills and experience for the job-market. It also allows you to try out new things, network with people and have fun! This one and half hour interactive session will focus on the benefits of volunteering and 6 ways volunteering can help you find a job. This session is led by Iona, Community Engagement Manager, who will share her volunteering experiences.


Volunteering As a Newcomer to Canada

Friday, October 26 from 1:00 PM -2:30 PM (Downtown)

Are you interested in volunteering? Do you want to learn more about what volunteering is? How to get started? What is the best way to apply? What are the benefits? How can you can gain skills and experience? At the same time be part of your community and learn about the Canadian culture. Come to this 1.5 hour interactive workshop that will cover who, why, what, where, and how of volunteering. This session is led by Venus, Community Engagement Assistant, who will share her volunteering experiences with the audience.

Becoming a Board Member

Are you an experienced professional interested in volunteering in a leadership role? Volunteering as a non-profit board member may be the role for you. Come to one of our upcoming workshops to find out what's involved and have all your questions answered.

Are you a new member of a non-profit organization's Board of Directors? This training series will teach you everything you need to know to be a great Board member across four sessions. Choose the session relevant to you, or attend all four (for a special discounted price!)
