Volunteer Toronto is committed to making our services as accessible as possible.

Volunteer Toronto recognizes our obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. This includes creating accessibility policies, training staff and volunteers on the Ontario Human Rights Code, providing accessible customer service, offering opportunities for people to request alternative formats for information, and implementing accessible employment practices (Source: Ontario.ca).

Volunteer Toronto's 5-Year Accessibility Action Plan

Our vision is that “everyone can contribute meaningfully”. In line with this ethos, we strive to adopt inclusive practices beyond our legal requirement. To this effect, Volunteer Toronto is implementing a 5-Year Accessibility Action Plan (coming Summer 2025).

This Accessibility Action Plan is structured to improve equity in our own programs and systems first. From this foundation, we will leverage our knowledge of accessibility practices and amplify the voices of those with lived experience to educate the broader community on enhancing accessibility for volunteers in Toronto.
